The Mirrors show their true colours with “Over The Edge”
The Mirrors, the melodic rock Montreal duo of partners, Natalie Talbot (SEAKIN) and Hugo Joyal (HJ and the Constellations), recently released their debut EP, Down The Alley, and are now highlighting it with the single “Over the Edge.”
“Our first single feels like an introduction,” The Mirrors say. “We are really enthusiastic about presenting this first song because we feel there is something about the way we created it, and what it contains, which is literally both our guts.”
Review
Beginning with Natalie’s powerfully beautiful vocals, “Over The Edge” immediately captivates listeners and embarks on an unexpected sonic journey. The incorporation of lyrics in both English and French further enriches the composition, introducing an additional layer of complexity.
The lyrics delve into the themes of unmasking, confronting fears, and embracing a fresh start. The singer’s heartfelt delivery authentically conveys the introspective journey, infusing the track with vulnerability and depth
The chorus, consisting of “I’m over the edge, I stand over the edge, Join me on the edge,” evolves into a powerful and uplifting refrain, encouraging listeners to embark on the singer’s path of self-discovery and growth.
Overall, this release shines as a prime example of how music can serve as a powerful instrument for delving into the intricacies of the human journey.
