Abby Pierrot Releases New Single, “Drink His Wine”

Abby Pierrot (Pierre-Oh), an emerging pop artist from Vancouver, BC, has unveiled her recent single, “Drink His Wine.”

She and producer Jordan Klassen (Dear Rouge, The Tourist Company), blend their talents to deliver witty rhymes and danceable synth-pop beats on “Drink His Wine”.

“It came to me in my sleep after a series of especially confusing interactions with a man from a dating app. He wasn’t particularly inspiring in most other regards, but at least I got a song out of it,” laments Pierrot.

Listen to “Drink His Wine” below and learn more about Abby via our Five Questions With segment.

Care to introduce yourself to our readers?

I’m Abby Pierrot, an alternative pop artist from Vancouver, BC. I have four cats (debatably too many) and an affinity for thrift stores, European history, and napping. I just released my new single “Drink His Wine” and there is more music on the way that I am so excited to share.

Tell us a bit about your most recent release.

“Drink His Wine” is a synth-driven pop track detailing the frustration I often feel when navigating hook-up culture, dating, and honestly just dealing with men in general. While the lyrics come across as a sassy anthem of female empowerment, it’s actually more of a song about my trust issues and tendency to self-sabotage.

Where do you tend to pull inspiration from when writing?

My inspiration usually comes from my personal emotions and experiences. Writing has always been a way for me to vent more than anything else. I often joke that my life has to be in a state of utter chaos in order for me to write a good song. This means that writing is a very solitary experience for me, and usually remains between solely me and my notes app.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?

Yes! I’m Playing Barnside Harvest Festival in Delta this September alongside a ton of other amazing artists. It’s going to be my first big live show since Covid, so I am a bit nervous but also super excited.

What’s your goal for 2023?

My main goal right now is to stay focused on the music I have in the pipeline right now, and support and market those releases the best I can with live shows and social media content etc!
