Artist: Erik Daniel
Album: The Sea to the Sky
Release Date: May 2, 2023
Genre: Alternative

Vancouver, BC-based indie rock musician, Erik Daniel has unveiled his ten-song album, The Sea to the Sky.

The release begins with the previous single, “Last Dance,” which serves as a great introduction to Erik’s sound.

“Caught In A Smile” caught my attention with its upbeat, cherry tempo that we initially are treated to. Erik’s vocals possess a sing-song, poetic quality throughout the song, which is inviting and welcoming. The lyrics of the chorus, “Silent speaking, Can’t help peeking in, Without seeking, We will find what we’ve been lacking, Compass bearing, Truth we’re sharing in, They’re all staring, Doesn’t matter – we will find it,” encourage a mindset of being open to unexpected discoveries and remaining steadfast in the face of challenges.

“Going In Circles” begins with a clapping, twinkling beat that gives the track an experimental, electronic vibe. Erik’s deep vocals are added to the mix, taking center stage. The music and vocals meld together creating an ethereal and authentic feel. This track showcases Erik’s ability to combine different elements and create a sound that is both familiar and uniquely his own.

Overall, The Sea to the Sky offers a robust selection of tracks that do a great job of inviting the listener in and captivating their attention from start to finish.
