Canadian Indigenous country artist Brad Sims is turning up the energy with his newest single, “Let’s Make The Night.” The track captures the electric feeling of small-town weekends, spontaneous road trips, and the kind of nights that turn into lifelong memories with that special someone.
Driven by punchy guitars, a driving rhythm section, and Brad’s confident vocal delivery, “Let’s Make The Night” blends contemporary country production with the authenticity fans have come to expect. The song celebrates living in the moment — shutting off the noise, grabbing your soulmate, and making memories that last long after the sun comes up.
“This song is about that spark — when the week’s behind you and the only plan is to make the most of right now,” says Sims. “It’s meant to be played loud.”
With growing support across streaming platforms and a steadily expanding fanbase, Brad Sims continues to solidify his place in Canada’s modern country landscape.
First off, care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Hey everyone — I’m Brad Sims, an Indigenous country recording artist from Grande Prairie, Alberta. I grew up surrounded by small-town values, hard work, and a deep love for music. Country has always felt like home to me because it tells real stories about real life — and that’s exactly what I aim to do with every song I write and release.
Tell us a bit about your recent release.
“Let’s Make The Night” is all about that feeling when everything lines up — good company, good energy, and a girl that just might be the one. It’s upbeat, high-energy, and built for blasting in the truck or turning up at a live show. I wanted to create something that feels like freedom for love in song form — the kind of track that becomes the soundtrack to someone’s best night of the year.
Walk us through your creative process when creating music.
It usually starts with a feeling or a phrase that sticks with me. From there, I build around it — sometimes with a melody first, sometimes with a hook idea. I try to stay honest in the writing process. If it doesn’t feel real, I scrap it.
Once the foundation is there, I focus on energy and dynamics. I always think about how it’s going to translate live. I want songs that not only connect emotionally but also hit hard on stage. Although I wasn’t a writer on “Let’s Make the Night” it resonates with me deeply, hoping to feel that through fans when they hear it as well
Now that the music is out, what does the ‘road ahead’ look like? Beyond tours and videos, what’s one ‘bucket list’ goal you hope to achieve with this release?
The goal is growth — reaching new listeners and building a stronger connection with the fans who’ve been supporting me from day one. Beyond shows and visuals, a bucket list moment would be hearing a crowd sing “Let’s Make The Night” back to me at full volume. That’s when you know the song has taken on a life of its own.
Every artist has a ‘lightbulb moment’ where things just clicked. Looking back, what’s the one performance or milestone that made you realize, “Okay, this is what I was meant to do”?
There was a show where the crowd started singing along to one of my original songs (Straight Whiskey) without any prompting. That was the moment it hit me — these weren’t just songs I wrote in a room; they were becoming part of someone else’s story too. That’s when I knew I wasn’t just playing music — I was building something real.
We love championing Canadian talent. If you were curating a “Must-Listen” playlist of emerging artists right now, who is the first person you’d add?
There’s so much great Canadian country talent right now. I’d definitely encourage people to dig into emerging independent artists across Alberta and Western Canada — there’s a lot of authentic songwriting happening here. Supporting local and independent artists is huge for keeping the scene alive and thriving.
There’s nothing like the energy of a live room. Where can fans catch you on stage next, and for someone seeing you for the first time, what should they expect from a Brad Sims live experience?
Fans can catch upcoming show dates on my social media pages and website. A Brad Sims live show is high-energy from start to finish. Expect loud guitars, crowd interaction, and songs that make you want to sing along or hit the dance floor. I want every show to feel like a night you
