THE REKLAWS & DEAN BRODY JOIN FORCES AGAIN FOR ANTHEMIC NEW SINGLE “HOMETOWN HEROES”
Multi-DOUBLE PLATINUM duo The Reklaws are kicking off the year with a new single featuring longtime friend and celebrated Canadian country icon, Dean Brody. “Hometown Heroes”, written as a tribute to the moments, people, and teams that unite us, captures the unmistakable pride of cheering for the home team and the deeper meaning of what it represents across Canada.
Inspired by the unforgettable 2025 run of Canada’s beloved baseball team and the way it brought an entire nation together, “Hometown Heroes” was written by Jenna and Stuart Walker (The Reklaws) alongside Emily Reid, Callum Maudsley, and Scott Helman. Once in the room, it became clear the song was going to be about so much more than baseball, becoming a tribute to local heroes, the unsung champions who help make life in this country what it is.
“This song started with a memory that so many of us share, like standing shoulder to shoulder, cheering for the same team and evolved into an anthem for everyone who shows up for their community,” said The Reklaws. “It is about that feeling of togetherness and pride that reminds us how connected we really are.”
While recording songs for his upcoming 10th studio album in Nashville, Brody first heard “Hometown Heroes” teased on social media by his friends and knew he wanted to be a part of it. Drawn immediately to the heart of the song, Brody headed over to the studio where The Reklaws were recording to join the second verse. The result is a stirring collaboration that blends three of Canada’s most recognizable voices into a heartfelt, stadium-ready anthem that feels both personal and universal.
The track marks a powerful reunion for the trio of artists, following the unmatched success of their previous collaboration “Can’t Help Myself,” which became a fan favourite and one of the most impactful Canadian country releases of its time.
