The Tea Party & Finger Eleven

TD Place, Ottawa, ON
Pushing past unforeseen circumstances, Canadian 90’s rock icons The Tea Party and Finger Eleven brought the power of rock to Ottawa’s TD Place this past weekend!
Third headliners, the Headstones, were unfortunately forced to cancel their performance due to illness; which did leave some fans disappointed, but ultimately willing to give a great night of music their full attention as the remaining performers brought their distinct legendary brands of industrial, alternative and prog rock to the table.
On the road to promote Last Night On Earth, their first studio album in 10 years, Finger Eleven delighted the Saturday night crowd with their electric performance of their hits from across their 25-year history. Alongside their latest radio hits “Adrenaline” and “Blue Sky Mystery”, the rockers also brought favourites from their 1997 album, Tip; including set opener “Above,” an absolutely immaculate cover of Pink Floyd’s “Welcome to the Machine,” and smash hits “Paralyzer”, “Good Times” and “One Thing.”

Following Finger Eleven’s impressive set, the Tea Party mesmerized the crowd with their legendary blend of Middle Eastern influences with psych-prog rock. Soaring guitar solos peppered with exotic instrumentation, the Tea Party didn’t miss with classic hits, such as “Psychopomp,” “Temptation,” and “Sister Awake.” The power trio also delighted the crowd with their signature covers of Daniel Lanois’ “The Messenger,” and the Rolling Stones’ “Paint It Black”; as well as hints of the Tragically Hip’s “Bobcaygeon” and U2’s “With Or Without You” sprinkled in as well.

The Tea Party and Finger Eleven pushed through a difficult situation to deliver a great show full of the great Canadian alternative rock soundscapes that we’re proud to call our own!
