Cult leader, KiNG MALA took Toronto’s Adelaide Hall to gay church for the 7th stop on their ‘Devotion Tour’ to promote their release ‘And You Who Drowned in the Grief of a Golden Thing’. The performance lived up to the sermon-like description, delivering the new material with a dark, commanding precision that stripped away the polish of studio recordings in favor of raw grit.

The evening opened with support from New York artist and “bestie” Dezi, marking her first live performance in Canada. Far from a tentative debut, Dezi commanded the stage with an authority that mirrored the headliner’s, proving the lineup was a partnership rather than a hierarchy. The result was a seamless night of alternative pop that demanded—and received—total attention from the congregation.
