The Beaches with Valley
November 13, 2025
Scotiabank Centre, Halifax, NS
On Thursday, November 13, Toronto rockers The Beaches played their second to last show of their 2-month tour at Halifax’s Scotiabank Centre. Alternative pop band Valley opened the night.
Also from Toronto, Valley was the perfect warmup for The Beaches and their energy set the tone. Their set mostly included tracks from their newest album Water the Flowers, Pray for a Garden, including “Bass Player’s Brother,” “When You Know Someone,” and “Growing (Apart).” A standout moment came during “Growing (Apart),” when lead singer Rob Laska, bassist Alex Dimauro, and touring bandmate Feurd broke into an energetic jam together, which ended with Feurd playing his guitar while lying on the stage.

All-girl band The Beaches hit the stage to “Last Girls at the Party” after a quick intro video, and the nearly sold-out arena was instantly fired up. Even in a much bigger venue than their previous Halifax stops (Seahorse Tavern and Light House Arts Centre), they still managed to connect with the crowd. They brought fan Bella on stage to share her biggest “Did I Say Too Much” story, and Jordan jumped down to sing with fans in the front row during “Jocelyn.” With the energy and vocals they delivered, you never would’ve guessed they were all battling colds and strep throat if they hadn’t mentioned it.
Their setlist stretched across their entire catalogue, featuring favourites like “Edge of the Earth,” “Shower Beer,” “Everything is Boring,” and of course viral “Blame Brett” from Blame My Ex. They also played “Lesbian of the Year” (which Leandra wrote after coming out just a few years ago), “Touch Myself,” and “Sorry For Your Loss” from their new album No Hard Feelings. For longtime fans, they even slipped a couple of throwbacks—“T-Shirt” and “Money”—from their 2017 album Late Show into a fun medley. They closed the night with a reprise of “Last Girls at the Party,” this time joined onstage by Valley.
Thank you to Sonic Concerts, The Beaches, and Scotiabank Centre for having Canadian Beats!
