Night one of The Wombats‘ two sold-out shows at The Danforth Music Hall set a high standard. The English indie rock veterans brought the high-energy experience their fans expect, proving the band has lost none of its kinetic energy.
The evening kicked off with Red Rum Club, a British alternative rock group whose fun and energetic set successfully warmed up the Toronto crowd.
Following them was Only the Poets, an English band from Reading. Their synth-heavy sound and confident stage presence immediately evoked a distinct The 1975 vibe, adding a nice contrast to the bill.
When The Wombats took the stage, the room immediately erupted. The trio delivered a tight, non-stop performance, tearing through crowd favorites. The atmosphere was joyful and relentless, solidifying exactly why they continue to sell out venues years into their career.
