First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?
Yeah of course ! – My name is Rick Duff I’m a 31 year old, country/folk singer songwriter from Mascouche, Quebec, Canada.
Tell us a bit about your recent release.
Definitely! I just released my debut album called Forever Reckless. 10 homegrown country songs that speaks about me and where I’m from!
The album is dedicated to a dear friend that passed a couple of years back, Mathew Foucher A.k.a Reckless Mits.
The album speaks about family, core values, addiction and mental health awareness . It’s a mix of my past present and future.
How do you typically go about the songwriting process? Do you have a specific method or creative routine that you follow?
It mostly starts with a good guitar riff that leads up to a vocal melody! But all roads are good leading up to a good new song I guess!
Looking ahead, what are your plans for supporting this new release? Are there any upcoming tours, music videos, or additional content that fans can look forward to in connection with this project?
Yes! There will be a tour! As of right now we will be touring Quebec a lot! But we are working hard to be able to offer shows across my beautiful country !
I also released a music video in collaboration with CboysTv, a famous YouTube channel based in Cormorant Minnesota U.S.A, on my song Ford Ranger !
Rest assured, we are always working on a new way to bring the project to another level! It’s just so fun !
Looking back on your musical career, is there a particular moment or accomplishment that you consider a turning point or a highlight?
Well, I’d have to go with the release of my debut album! It’s a life-long dream that I’ve just accomplished and being able to release your first album and have that many tour dates booked and that many loyal fans that shows up and supports, I mean, that’s the highlight! I’m just so grateful period.
Last but not least, it’s time to pay it forward, what upcoming band or artist would you recommend your fans check out?
There is so many! But here in Canada I really love Sully Burrows, James Barker Band, Matt Lang, Washboard Union, Alli Walker, Meghan Patrick, MacKenzie Porter and Madeleine Merlo!
