LANDMVRKS

MTelus was buzzing with anticipation on September 14th as a sold-out crowd packed the venue for LANDMVRKS’ highly anticipated North American tour debut in Montreal.

Silly Goose kicked things off with raw Nu Metal chaos that immediately grabbed the crowd’s attention. Though their set was short, they made it count, tearing through high-energy tracks and even giving fans a taste of what’s to come with an unreleased song, Heart Attack. They closed strong with Bad Behavior, leaving a solid impression and a clear message: keep an eye on this band — they’re just getting started.

Next up were Novelists, a last-minute replacement for Thornhill, but you’d never guess it from the crowd’s reaction. Speaking directly to the audience in French, they had the room eating out of their hands. Their unique blend of progressive and melodic metalcore fit the bill perfectly, and they didn’t just fill a slot — they elevated the night. Standout moments included Coda, a personal favorite, and their closer Turn It Up, which had the floor moving and voices raised.

Finally, it was time for LANDMVRKS, Marseilles’ finest export in modern metalcore. Their set exploded with energy, passion, and tight musicianship. The band’s chemistry and stage presence were infectious — it’s easy to see why this show sold out. That said, the performance wasn’t without its hiccups. Frequent breaks, mid-set stage exits, and even a spray-painting interlude interrupted the momentum. At one point, it felt like they left the stage only to return as if it were an encore — barely 30 minutes in. It disrupted the flow and left some fans wondering what was going on.

Despite the strange pacing, they brought it back with a heartfelt acoustic rendition of Suffocate, a rare and moving moment that stood out in the 15-song set. Visually, the production could’ve been more dynamic — just one static backdrop on the video screen felt like a missed opportunity given today’s tech.

Still, these are minor gripes in the face of a powerful, high-energy show. LANDMVRKS know how to command a stage, and when they’re locked in, they’re untouchable. From breakdowns to singalongs, the crowd was all in — and for good reason.

Final Verdict: A strong night of metalcore featuring rising talent, local engagement, and a headliner that, even with some missteps, proved why they’re leading the genre right now. Montreal showed up, and LANDMVRKS delivered.
