On Monday, September 22nd, American singer and songwriter Jessie Murph brought her Worldwide Hysteria Tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver. The singer is touring in support of her newest album Sex Hysteria. Her sound is hard to pin down—blending hip-hop, pop, and a hint of country twang into a layered mix that feels distinctly her own. Murph. The concert doubled as a milestone—it was also the singer’s 21st birthday, adding an extra layer of celebration to the night.
The theatre filled with a wave of fans in corsets, mini skirts, and cowboy boots—many clearly taking style cues from Murph. As the singer took to the stage, screams and cheers erupted as the lights dimmed and Murph appeared from behind a curtain. Murph carried a distinct aesthetic that fit seamlessly with the performance. The stage was set up with grand white pillars, carpeted platforms and chic pink curtains. Completing the aesthetic was her signature touch—a sparkling pink microphone.
Also central to the performance were her four male dancers, whose presence and choreography added to the show’s theatrical edge. They were featured in nearly every number, their sharp routines underscoring just how integral they are to the live experience. On top of her set list, during “Donuts,” Murph amped up the spectacle with cheer stunts, standing on a dancer’s shoulders and making her way through the crowd.
Murph powered through 24 songs, with most pulled from her latest album, including hit singles like “Blue Strips”, “Touch Me Like a Gangster” and Gucci Mane, which had the crowd singing their hearts out throughout the night. A special moment came when Murph invited a fan on stage to perform a duet of her song “If I Died Last Night”. It was a special and heartwarming moment with the two embracing after the song ended.
