Down With Webster

Malkin Bowl, Vancouver, BC
On September 5th, Canadian rap rock band Down with Webster brought the party all night to the Malkin Bowl in Vancouver. Despite Metro Vancouver issuing an air quality warning due to the heavy smoke from many fires burning in BC, passionate fans made the trek to Stanley Park.
One thing is for certain, Down with Webster knows how to put on a high energy show. The band got the crowd going with “One in a Million” starting off with Patrick Gillett’s vocals and Camm Hunter and Bucky later bursting onto the stage trading rap verses. The band gave off infectious energy as they pumped up the crowd for the beat drops and jumped in unison.
Down With Webster kept the energy going by following up with “Time To Win”, launching red solo cups into the crowd and fans belting the rap verses back to the band. They even performed a medley of “Everybody (Backstreet’s Back) / Hot in Herre / Jump Around / 1000 Miles / Seven Nation Army” which was a great curveball that ignited the crowd even more once they figured out what was happening.
The band finished the night with some of their most classic singles, “Whoa Is Me”, and “Your Man.” Fans sang at the top of their lungs word for word, as the band gave it their all.
Down with Webster is an icon to the mid to late 2000s Canadian music scene. The band had commercial success with the release of the 2009 EP, Time to Win, Vol. I, which consisted of many hit singles. It was a wave of nostalgia, for many millennials discovering them in high school and college, with their constant play on Much Music.
Vancouver fans were treated to a high-energy throwback, belting out the songs of their youth, and you could feel the nostalgia vibes still buzzing as the crowd spilled out of the venue.
