Financier-Turned-Artist Jordan Cracknell Unleashes Her Inner Boss with Electrifying Debut Single, “Gordon Gekko”
Jordan Cracknell makes a bold entrance into the music scene with her debut single ‘Gordon Gekko’, a high-octane house/dance anthem co-written with Love Island music producer Tom Marlow. Inspired by the iconic 1987 film Wall Street and the viral hit “I’m Looking for a Man in Finance,” Cracknell flips the narrative with a feminist twist—channelling the ambition and edge of Michael Douglas’ infamous character through a fresh, female lens.
Drawing sonic inspiration from the likes of Marina, Fred Again, and Raye, ‘Gordon Gekko’ is a pulsing, 80s-infused power track that fuses retro synths with modern dancefloor-ready beats. The result? A fierce, unapologetic anthem that’s both nostalgic and strikingly current.
“Last year we had that viral song, ‘I’m Looking for a Man in Finance’,” Cracknell shares. “I kept thinking, Why is it always a man in finance? I wanted to flip the script – to show women can be powerful and ambitious too. A boss b****.”
Born in New York City and now based in London, Jordan Cracknell brings real-world Wall Street experience to her debut single.
A successful financier and published author (You Can Count on Penny), she’s known for her thought leadership across TODAY.com, Metro.co.uk, City AM, and more. Her work in finance and lifestyle has been spotlighted in publications such as The Wedding Edition, Daily Mail, Absolutely Magazines, The Sun, Metro, Verge Magazine, and Entertainment Focus.
Now, she’s channelling her ambition and storytelling into music, with a message as strong as the beat behind it.
