Ryan Castro kicked off his 2025 Sendé World Tour in Vancouver on August 7, and the sold-out Vogue Theatre felt like it had been transported straight to a Colombian block party. For a venue known for intimate concerts, the production was bigger than expected: air cannons firing bursts of smoke, lasers slicing through the air, and a massive inflatable sneaker suspended high above the stage.
Before Castro even stepped on stage, DJ Tony Escobar set the tone, turning the theatre into a full-on party with a high-energy reggaeton mix. By the time Castro appeared, the crowd was already moving, and the energy didn’t dip for the rest of the night.
Castro, who first claimed the title “El Cantante del Ghetto” with his 2023 debut album, is now aiming for a global audience. The Sendé tour marks his biggest solo run yet, with 27 stops planned across North America, Europe, and beyond. It follows the release of his sophomore album Sendé, a Top 10 Spotify global debut in May, blending reggaeton with Caribbean influences he picked up while living in Curaçao.
On stage, those influences came to life. The beats had a sunny sway, the crowd sang nearly every word, and Castro moved with the confidence of someone who’s already played stadiums. Having shared bills with Karol G and toured with Blessd, he’s no stranger to commanding a crowd, but this was his night alone. And if Vancouver’s reaction was any sign, the rest of the world is about to get the same party.
