Hobby & The Sheepdogs

Base31 Drill Hall
An evening of steel guitars, gritty riffs, and a time-travel ride to the ‘70s era of aesthetics as both Hobby and The Sheepdogs rocked a fully packed Base31 Drill Hall.
Opening the night was the Toronto-based band Hobby, a rising quintet whose sound channels the vintage flair of guitar legends like Hendrix, Clapton, Page, and Beck — all with a soulful, timeless twist. It’s no wonder they got the call to kick off the evening, sharing the stage as the opening act for The Sheepdogs’ sold-out performance.
Hobby’s set blended bluesy riffs and soulful melodies, setting a rich, groovy tone that perfectly warmed up the audience for the main act in the massive, atmospheric, and historic venue.

Then, in a much-anticipated moment, the legends The Sheepdogs took to the stage, having us Feeling Good, even if there was a Hole Where Our Hearts Should Be — and making us question Who Do You Belong To? Of course, by that point, everyone in attendance belonged to The Sheepdogs as they dove into deep cuts, curated a mid-set of mellow vibes, and closed with a bang, playing I Don’t Know and Nobody before stepping offstage.
But the crowd wasn’t done. They chanted for an encore for a solid five minutes until The Sheepdogs returned, treating fans to a few more songs — including a killer cover of the iconic Neil Young & Crazy Horse hit Down By The River.
They lived up to their legendary stage presence, leaving both longtime fans and new listeners satisfied, smiling, and riding high on the good vibes.
