Current Swell Return with ‘10 Feet Tall,’ a Joyful and Reflective New EP Featuring Anthemic Roots-Rock Single “I Got Mine”
Victoria, BC indie rock mainstays Current Swell are back with 10 Feet Tall, the second of two companion EPs recorded with JUNO-nominated producer Gus van Go. Out now, the five-track project captures the band at their most playful, present, and confident, delivering a collection of songs rich in gratitude, groove, and singalong-ready energy.
Recorded at Boiler Room Studios in Toronto, 10 Feet Tall sees the band stretching creatively while doubling down on their folk-rock foundations. The title track and “High As a Kite” radiate with carefree joy, while others lean into introspective storytelling and lush textures.
The EP’s focus track, “I Got Mine,” finds Current Swell in classic form, blending nostalgic warmth with rootsy instrumentation and infectious melodies. Mid-tempo and anthemic, the song taps into the same folk-rock magic that made fan favourites like “I Want a Bird” into setlist staples.
Current Swell consists of longtime co-leads Scott Stanton and David Lang, with Louis Sadava, Marcus Manhas, Phil Hamelin, and Dave St. Jean. The band has spent over a decade crafting a signature blend of indie rock, roots, and West Coast soul. With hundreds of millions of streams and sold-out tours across North America, South America, and Europe, their music has become synonymous with heartfelt songwriting and explosive live performances.
On 10 Feet Tall, Current Swell continues to do what they do best – write honest, melodic songs that speak to resilience, joy, and the power of connection.
