Isabella Chiarini shares updated version of former single, “Kiss”
Isabella Chiarini is a Hamilton-based pop singer-songwriter whose heartfelt lyrics and genre-blending sound are shaped by personal resilience and a lifelong passion for music. Influenced by her hardworking father and supported by mentors like Teresa Nocita and Canadian Idol winner Brian Melo, Isabella’s music is a reflection of her journey—raw, empowering, and authentically her. From childhood lessons to Nashville studios, she’s turned personal pain into uplifting pop anthems that resonate with young listeners across Canada.
Following the success of her single “Kiss,” Isabella is now expanding her sound with a brand-new remix release, bringing a fresh, energized twist to a fan-favourite track.
First off, what have you been up to since we last chatted?
Since we last spoke, I have been working on more music! I have spent many hours writing and in studio sessions getting this year’s releases ready! I have also been full-time teaching/managing.

Your musical journey began at just 8 years old — what do you remember most about those early singing lessons with Teresa Nocita?
I remember being COMPLETELY obsessed with the singing studio! All I cared about was doing good in my singing lessons! Getting better was a big priority for me, so lots of practicing and training came to mind in my early singing lessons.
You’ve spoken beautifully about your father’s strength and influence. How has his journey shaped the stories you tell through your music?
Whenever I make music, I always put all my emotions and heart into it. My story naturally comes out in my songs because they’re authentic. My dad has always pushed me to be more confident and to always strive to be my most authentic self, and because of him, all of that gets put into my music!!
Songwriting is clearly close to your heart. Can you take us behind the scenes — what’s your writing process like, and where do your lyrics usually begin?
The writing process for this song was very different because it was written when I was 15. The writing process is very different from now. This one was tweaked in the studio as I was recording to make it sound more up-to-date! Whatever was naturally flowing that day ended up in the final track!
Your early singles came with music videos — do you enjoy the visual side of music creation, and do you get involved in the concepting process?
Yes, I love creating videos when they feel right! When I was first starting out, the creative process was new to me, so I would follow someone else’s lead. As I’ve matured and gotten some experience, I am definitely more hands-on in the creation and concept-building process, which is extremely fun for me! I love seeing the ideas on paper turn into real visuals!
You released a remix of your song “Kiss” on May 23rd — what inspired you to revisit and reimagine this track?
I was inspired to revisit this song because I felt the original version did not fit my catalogue anymore. As I’ve moved into more dance pop, the rock vibe the original song had felt misplaced. Now it fits!
How do you think the message or mood of “Kiss” evolves in this new version?
I think in the original, I come off angrier. The vibe is more rock and tough, but in the dance version, it doesn’t come off as harsh. You can listen to the dance version when you’re in a variety of moods because the music is lighter, but the lyrics are still more serious.
If someone’s never heard the original “Kiss,” should they listen to that first, or dive straight into the remix?
I think it would be cool to listen to the original first, then the remix, to see the evolution of the song. However, if you’re in an angrier mood, go with the original! If you’re in a lighter mood, stick to the remix!
With the “Kiss” remix now dropped, can we expect more remixes or reimagined versions of your older tracks in the future?
I plan on creating stripped-down versions of my dance music! I love creating contrast and making songs that can be both upbeat and sad. Stay tuned for some stripped-back versions of my previous releases this year!
Any upcoming performances or live shows your fans should mark on their calendars?
I will be playing the Kensington Market Unplugged series on June 3rd and Youth Day Toronto on July 13th!
