Montreal’s Coco Rose is back with Cuddle Funk, an EP that feels like a warm hug wrapped in groove. Since 2019, the eight-piece band has brought heart and energy to Quebec’s indie scene. Their debut Love Faster was raw and lively—this time, they’re smoother and more polished, blending cozy synths and playful rhythms into a funk sound that’s more cuddle than sizzle.
“Love Light” blends smooth grooves, intimate lyrics, and cozy synths into a love song that feels both fresh and timeless. With lines like “Don’t you ever ever go out,” the chorus glows with warmth and vulnerability, capturing that all-consuming early crush. The track balances catchy hooks with emotional depth, leaning into late-night longing without losing its upbeat vibe. It’s romantic, soulful, and effortlessly cool—proof that Coco Rose can make you move and feel.
“Song of Us” is soft, sweet, and full of little moments that feel like memories. The lyrics are poetic without trying too hard—lines like “I whispered those things, I really meant to scream them” hit in all the right ways. It’s the kind of song that feels like a walk through falling leaves, quiet but full of feeling.
Overall, the EP flows smoothly between English and French, blending mellow grooves, rich production, and real emotion. Each track brings its own vibe, but they all connect through a warm, laid-back feel that invites you to slow down and sink in.
