First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?
My name is Ashley Law. I am a singer-songwriter from rural Bentley, Alberta. I come from a fourth-generation farm family and am currently a welder.
Tell us a bit about your recent release.
Sweet Tea was written while I was in the midst of heartbreak, finally accepting myself for who I was. This led to me finding love after heartbreak, which is truly captured within Sweet Tea.
How do you typically go about the songwriting process? Do you have a specific method or creative routine that you follow?
The songwriting process for me is very self-driven and based on true life experiences, feelings, and emotions. Truthfully, inspiration strikes at the most random times—whether
it’s 2 in the morning or in the middle of the day, lyrics are always running through my head! However, I try to sit down and write at least twice a week.
Music is my escape, and songwriting allows me to express the words I can’t say out loud.
Looking ahead, what are your plans for supporting this new release? Are there any upcoming tours, music videos, or additional content that fans can look forward to in connection with this project?
Moving forward with this release, I look forward to sharing it with others through social media and streaming, and I am hopeful radio will embrace it. I will continue sharing it during my busy lineup of live shows this summer.
Looking back on your musical career, is there a particular moment or accomplishment that you consider a turning point or a highlight?
One of the biggest turning points in my career was being nominated for a Country Music Alberta Award. Regardless of the outcome, I gained so much new insight and had the opportunity to meet more people like myself. As a young artist, it can be challenging to climb the totem pole of the country music industry, starting from rock bottom. I truly can’t believe how far I’ve come!

One artist I would love for you all to check out is Brettyn Rose—her storytelling is incredible, and she truly lights up any room!
