She’s back! 2x JUNO-nominated children’s music icon Rosalie Moscoe has returned with Kids Power!, an energetic, empowering, and long-awaited album for kids and families—many of whom grew up singing along to her songs and are now introducing them to their own children. With a career spanning decades, Moscoe has been a formative presence in the world of family-friendly music, inspiring joy, imagination, and a love of learning. Now, after years away, she’s stepping back into the spotlight with a fresh collection of uplifting tunes and bonus tracks, proving that the power of music—and childhood wonder—never fades.

Filled with catchy melodies, playful lyrics, and important messages about self-confidence, wellness, and caring for the planet, Kids Power! is the kind of album that makes kids dance and parents smile. Songs like Be ProudVeggie Power, and Love Mother Earth instill positive values while keeping things irresistibly fun. Moscoe’s signature blend of humor, heart, and high-energy storytelling makes every track a singalong celebration.

And she’s not doing it alone. Kids Power! is a star-studded collaboration with some of Canada’s top musicians, including producer and multi-instrumentalist Ted Sevdalis (guitar, bass, banjo, ukulele, programming), master engineer Siegfried Meier, drummer Deryck Roche, djembe player Darren Moscoe, pianist and glockenspiel artist Lindsay Clark, violinist Brielle Goheen, trumpeter Julian Mark Brindley, and background vocalist Rachael Richards. The album also features a vibrant children’s choir led by conductor Kirk Reed, with young vocalists Lyon Fung, Gabriella McCormick, Gwendalyn Contreras, Tomisin Oladeji, Tochi Oladeji, Cassia Lam, and Cameron Kwan bringing an extra layer of charm to the mix. Voiceover artist Joey Kieran adds playful narration, while tape transfers were handled by Noah Mintz.

“This album is about joy, empowerment, and reminding kids (and grown-ups!) that they have the power to be strong, kind, and creative,” says Moscoe. “It feels amazing to return to music, knowing that families who once listened to my songs are now sharing them with their own children. It’s like coming full circle.”

Moscoe’s journey in children’s music began in a nursery school classroom when a teacher noticed her daughter wasn’t speaking much. She brought in her ukulele and sang—and soon, the words flowed. From there, she launched a celebrated career in family music, earning multiple JUNO nominations and winning the hearts of kids and parents across Canada. After stepping away from the stage to focus on health and wellness, she is now reigniting her passion for music with a renewed sense of purpose.

Kids Power! is a celebration of resilience, creativity, and the magic of childhood. Whether it’s the toe-tapping rhythm of Recycling Rap, the adventurous spirit of Andrea the Astronaut, or the irresistible groove of Feel So Good, every track invites listeners into a world of imagination and positivity.

With its mix of nostalgia and fresh energy, Kids Power! is set to captivate a new generation while giving longtime fans a reason to sing along once more. Rosalie Moscoe is back, and she’s bringing the fun!

Hi Rosalie! Good to meet you! Care to Introduce yourselves to the readers?

Hi! I’m Rosalie Moscoe, singer, songwriter, performer for children. I was twice JUNO nominated for my albums in ’81 and ’82. Parents and their kids are still singing them!

Kids Power! is your first album in quite a while–what inspired you to return to children’s music now?

It was time to bring out a new album as I had 6 new songs sitting in my filing cabinet waiting to be brought out!

Many parents who grew up listening to your songs are now sharing them with their own kids. What does that full-circle moment mean to you?

It’s a wonderful feeling bringing my music forward to a new generation and creating new songs. And kids (and parents) are still singing Mommy, Please Get off the Phone! We had great concerts throughout Canada. And now I’m creating a new album – 6 new songs that I felt were important to bring out: Be Proud, – kids need encouragement,  Veggie Power, Junk Food Blues,   – instill healthy eating, Love, Mother Earth, – we need to cherish it; Imaginary Friend  – still room for fantasy, and Recycling Rap! bringing out important information for today to help save our world.

Songs like Be Proud and Love Mother Earth are so timely. How do current social themes influence your songwriting?

I like to bring out songs for the times – meaningful, important, timely, and fun! Kids get it.

What message do you hope families walk away with after singing and dancing along to Kids Power!?

I hope kids and families will like the songs and enjoy singing them. Perhaps there’s something to be learned as well!
