On March 20, 2025, Theory of a Deadman wrapped up their Cross-Canada Unplugged Tour at The Light House Arts Centre in Halifax. Known for their mix of post-grunge, hard rock, and country, the British Columbia band delivered a high-energy, intimate show that felt like a jam session with friends.

The night opened with Jeff Martin, frontman of Ontario band The Tea Party, who blended heavy rock vocals with acoustic sounds, captivating the crowd. Highlights included The Kingdom, where he turned the audience into a choir, and The Tea Party classics like The Messenger and Sister Awake.

When Theory of a Deadman took the stage, they descended via a staircase set into their “basement”—complete with shag rugs, vintage speakers, an old TV, and a live bartender. The band played up the playful, acoustic house-party vibe, bantering with the crowd and each other. At one point, a “mom” character came down the stairs with a vacuum to tidy up the basement. Connolly even snapped a few Polaroid shots of front-row fans and tossed them to them as keepsakes.

The setlist included fan favourites like Better Off, Santa Monica, Rx, Lowlife, and The Bitch Came Back. A surprise appearance by Halifax artist Jon Cyr added local flavour to Livin’ My Life Like a Country Song, a newly re-recorded track. One memorable moment saw the band bring a couple on stage to sit at their bar for All or Nothing, making it a night to remember for them.

With nostalgia, energy, and surprises, Theory of a Deadman once again solidified their status as one of Canada’s favourite rock bands.
