So let’s get right into this brand new list of the best music around, Zach’s Picks Of The Week!!

Five

Beginning our list will be the latest single from Calgary’s, Stonehocker. It’s called “In Need” and explores the raw, emotional journey of realizing one’s need for a higher power. Find it now across all streaming platforms, but you can also check out the video within this article.

Four

Coming up next is Canadian singer-songwriter Dany Horovitz and his latest single “Way About You.” Produced around an infectious riff reminiscent of Avicii’s hit “Wake Me Up,” it hooks listeners from the start with its joyful banjo, catchy melody, and beautiful harmonies. Hear it now within this article.

Three

We all enjoy listening to other artists music and sometimes it even inspires us to create new works or renditions of their work. But often those renditions are run-of-the-mill. But that is not the case with Toronto Island-born, St. John’s-based indie pop singer Rozalind MacPhail. She’s she has breathed life into this cover of Canadian jazz-pop singer, Jill Barber’s “In Perfect Time.” Find it across all streaming sites and in this article.

Two

Next up at number two is Hamilton’s rock group, Savelene on our list. With “A New End,” the last single takes a deep dive into the complexities of relationships and personal growth. Inspired by the navigation of relationships past and present the lessons learned through them. This song is available now on all platforms, but the first place you should check is in this article.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

Joining this week’s list is going to be our bonus recommendation from around the world. It’s Baltimore angst-rockers Carbonstone, with a delightful disturbing, new single “Echos” which is available on all streaming sites. Viewers will likewise be entranced by the accompanying music video, the latest in a long line of slickly produced Carbonstone clips awash in Gothic and/or brutalist imagery. The link to that video can be found in this article.

One

Now we have reached this week’s number one recommendation on our list of the best new music around. This one is from my home province of British Columbia, It’s Victoria‘s very own Rhianna Barr-Beaumont. Who’s diagnosed autism hasn’t been a roadblock in her path to musical achievement. Instead, it’s merely another aspect of her story. The latest chapter is called, “Cold Hearted”  the 1988 Paula Abdul dance-pop classic, she’s given her own singular twist. Listen to it across the musical universe of streaming platforms or in this article.

Enjoying the best new music around are we?  That’s excellent to hear and I hope you share with your friends this week. They deserve to also jam out to the best music around.
