After one year of existence, let’s face it: the punk duo DVTR has become a “who heard it first” international phenomenon, touring Europe, Mexico, Japan, South Korea, US, and Canada with only 15 minutes of released music.
Now comes the deluxe EP BONJOUR (BIS), the group’s first vinyl and CD release. 11 tracks of often surprising, sometimes awkward, and always salvatory soundscapes. Vasectomy for all, ACAB, f*ck the Olympics; these are but a few of the drugged-up anthems sung throughout the disc, a mere glimpse of DVTR’s catchy madness on stage.
DVTR has been tearing things up in the short time since forming, releasing its debut EP Bonjour in Nov 2023.
Somewhere between the B-52s and fast DIY punk à la Jay Reatard, Demi Lune & Jean Divorce’s troublemaking duo pours out its bile on often surprising, sometimes awkward, and always salvatory soundscapes. Its unpredictable stage antics break all language barriers, from Mexico to Europe. This is fast music: DVTR is female-fronted, French-speaking, and not sweet at all. It repeats, it repeats, it repeats – that’s the only way to get the message across. A simple fuck off to anyone who’d need a reminder before everything burns?
