Building on the momentum of their global hit “Keep Your Eyes Peeled,” Brussels-based EBM/coldwave duo ULTRA SUNN delve deeper into the shadows with “Stories.” Releasing today via Artoffact Records, the track is a moody darkwave journey where Sam’s deep vocals are enveloped by layers of velvety synth pads, and Gaelle’s analog synthesizers and industrial drum machines craft a soundscape that’s both haunting and hypnotic.
“Stories is about those people you once knew, who you no longer talk to or see, but who still check up on what you’re doing, what you post on social media—those who watch all your stories.
We can’t wait to sing it with you all for the very first time during our USA tour, and also when we’re back in Europe!” comments the band on the new single.
Echoing the atmospheric depth of Depeche Mode while forging their own distinct path, ULTRA SUNN merges proto-goth sensibilities with contemporary electronic production. The result is a sound that’s nostalgic yet forward-thinking—a testament to their ability to honor the roots of EBM and coldwave while pushing the genres into new territories.
