LASSO Montreal unveils 2025 headliners

After a crazy 2024 edition, we’re already excited for next summer’s LASSO Montreal, with a very special announcement coming through this morning!

Country sensations Jelly Roll and Bailey Zimmerman will be playing at one of the most spectacular festival sites in North America with the gorgeous Montreal skyline in the background. The weekend will kick off early on Friday, August 14 at LASSO in the City, where you can expect a night of twangy tunes downtown to get the country vibes just right.

Jelly Roll is easily one of the music world’s most unique stars, throwing out the rule book and re-writing the way the game is played. The GRAMMY-nominated singer/songwriter, who swept the 2023 CMT Music Awards also received Billboard’s 2023 Breakthrough Award & the People’s Choice Award for Male Country Artist of the Year. Born Jason Bradley DeFord, in Antioch, Tennessee, Jelly Roll was a rising star in the world of southern hip-hop when he started letting his country music colours shine through. That’s when his career exploded into the stratosphere, making him a worldwide sensation. His music still reflects a deep connection with dirty south rap ethos, mixing trap beats and rattling rhythms with a heavy dose of country twang, fiddles, pedal steel and a voice that belies a life lived deeply and authentically. The singer, who is releasing his new album Beautifully Broken next month, recently appeared as the inaugural musical guest for the 50th season of Saturday Night Live, a huge honor for the superstar. He’ll be rocking the LASSO Montréal stage this summer, and it will undoubtedly be a major moment for the festival.

Bailey Zimmerman is making his mark in country music, breaking from tradition with a straightforward, authentic approach that’s setting him apart. The young performer, who turned all kinds of heads when he joined Morgan Wallen on his last tour (including a stop at the Bell Centre in Montreal in 2023). With a sound that straddles influences as diverse as Eric Church, Nickelback, Kid Rock, and Avenged Sevenfold, Zimmerman is at home in many musical playgrounds, but his pure love is country music, and his songs have an incredibly timeless quality for a young talent. His debut album Religiously. The Album. was released in 2023, arriving as not only the biggest all-genre streaming debut since 2021 but also the biggest streaming country debut of all time. Fans and critics alike are effusive, with the country press proclaiming the young singer has written some of mainstream country’s most emotionally powerful tracks.
