Cityfolk takes over Ottawa’s Landsdowne Park

On the Great Lawn at Lansdowne Park, Ottawa concert-goers bid farewell to the summer with the 2024 edition of CityFolk.

Held between September 11 and September 15, CityFolk is a companion to July’s Bluesfest celebrations and is notable for attracting unique Canadian and international artists for headlining performances across two stages, and the festival was no different.

The festival started strong on September 11 with the sensational Hawksley Workman blowing the minds of long-time fans at the Faskin Stage, while superstars, the Beaches, took over the main TD Stage and rocked the collective socks of Ottawa rock fans.

September 12 on the Faskin Stage would also see a legendary Canadian singer-songwriter, when alt-country star, Fred Eaglesmith, enchanted fans young and old, while the TD Stage continued the high-energy rock shows with London, Ontario’s Charlie Edwards opening for Grammy Award-winning rockers, Greta Van Fleet, who brought their spectacular neo-glam show to the mainstage.

The theme of exciting rock continued to September 13 and September 14 with TD Stage mainstage performances from ethereal instrumentalists, Explosions in the Sky, punk rockers, Rise Against, Canadian alt-rock favourites, Half Moon Run, and German indie-pop sensations, Milky Chance.

Finally, country and folk fans were treated to a closing night of rising talent and unique sounds; with TikTok sensation, Billianne, roots rocker Alejandro Escovedo, and Nashville favourite, Maren Morris taking over the TD Stage.

With the 2024 festival season completed, the city of Ottawa begins the long wait to another jam-packed summer in 2025!
