It’s that time once again when we bring you a batch of the best new music online. It’s right here on our website, Canadian Beats so be sure to explore to your heart’s content. But you’re more than welcome just to take my recommendations of the week, they are nicknamed Zach’s Picks Of The Week!!
All of the articles are linked in this post that you are reading right now. So keep up and check out my favourite articles of the week that were posted on our website. Like I said, these are just my personal opinions so you don’t have to take my word for it. You can always explore the rest of our website which is chock full of the best content around. But the links to each of these articles will be coming up right here, so what do you say we check out all of the amazing new music? These are Zach’s Picks Of The Week, let’s get into it!!
Five
Beginning this week’s list is going to be, Draemus and Theresia returning once again to my list. We have given our single review for their latest track, “Amerom is For Lovers” which you can find across all streaming services and platforms across the universe. Bringing protection and safety to Ameron after the liberation of all telepaths from The Humanoid Order’s super-prison. Draemus offers a unique alternative/electronic experience that is different from other worlds and dimensions. Head on through the link here.
Four
Coming up next is Ottawa indie pop rocker artist, Hot Mud (also known as Muddy Matthew Watters). Stating that the music industry is no longer on solid ground. Varieties of international labels, signing alternative acts of all kinds, and record stores in all major cities and small towns across North America. But now the industry has shifted with advances in technology and the capability to have any song or artist from any area at your fingertips. No need to search the shelves or hear about your sibling’s new favourite band. Well in this new single Hot Mud addresses the issue with his latest smart single, “Nobody Listens To The Radio” from the artist’s Pink Cloud Pop album. Check it out now and all your favourite streaming platforms and right through the link here.
Three
Next up on the list is going to be Havelin, also known as Alex Zaichkowski. He’s an acclaimed (unofficially) singer-songwriter (allegedly) whose passion for music began at a young age. After a number of years of being kicked around by life with ups and downs, Havelin almost hung up his songwriting hat. But a fortunate spark of creativity hit him while he was driving one day past some rodeo grounds and his home province of Alberta. The song “Rodeo Clown” was created in that moment, and speaks to his inner turmoil when feeling the need to perform a role within these unhealthy dynamics. Go find it across all your favourite streaming platforms, plus it’s linked right here.
Two
Runner up for the top spot on my list is going to be Jaclyn Hull, aka Jaxxee from Victoria British Columbia. She’s a songwriter who found her voice later in life, she is self-taught and sings with raw power & emotion. Jaxxee’s smoky and soulful voice takes you to a deep and trans-formative place where trip-hop and funk meet. Her latest musical appearance is on the track “How It Goes” with NEIL JAM3S, which you can find across all streaming platforms now. But we have an interview in our article with Jaxxee that’s right through here.
BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport
Now this is going to be our bonus and international artist featured this week. Canadian Beats Passport features all kinds of artists, including Evan Hannah from Arlington, VA. Emerging as a vibrant force in the artistic realm, proudly embracing their identity as a queer Black multi-disciplinary artist, performer, writer, and music educator. Their soul-infused new single “Overwhelmed” can be found across all streaming sites that play music. Learn more about Evan Hannah in our Five Questions With segment here.
One
Now you’ve reached my final recommendation of the week for the best new music around. Allow me to introduce Matías Roden, a Peruvian-Canadian singer-songwriter living in Vancouver, BC. He’s signed to Light Organ Records, his full-length debut album is set for release in early 2025. But his first single is a hopeful track called “Glowing” which you can find on all streaming sites now. His debut EP, The Plea, was recorded at Vancouver’s 604 Studios. You can listen to it in our article right here.
