Mike Legere shares new single, “Forgiveness”

Toronto-based Mike Legere Releases Brand New Single, “Forgiveness”

Nova Scotia-born/Toronto-based musician Mike Legere has unveiled a brand new single, “Forgiveness.”

“Forgiveness” is a gentle indie-folk song about healing, about emerging from feelings of hurt and anger, and finding acceptance. It’s about the way we sometimes get left with an unbearable feeling of unresolved conflict, which through time becomes subconscious until you realize you’ve moved on despite yourself.

The idea for the song followed this phenomenon closely. I heard it as a folk song, and so I took inspiration from Adrienne Lenkers Hours Were the Birds, using only acoustic instruments and ambient micing techniques that emphasize the feeling of space, and create a living room feel.

The single was recorded and performed by Mike Legere at Pine Island Studio Retreat, with overdubs tracked at The Root Down Studio. It was mixed by Mike and Mastered by Kristian Montano, with artwork by Alex White and a photo by Justin Friesen.

Quote From Editor

“Forgiveness” is a thought-provoking, introspective piece that speaks to the human experience of grappling with anger, pain, and ultimately, the healing power of letting go.”
