After a crazy night with Cage the Elephant last night, we’re continuing the theme of British rock at the Bell Center, but this time with the legendary Deep Purple!
The night opened with Progressive Rock trailblazers Yes, also celebrating 50 years of career! The band has seen different formations over the decades but tonight’s, with Jon Davison on vocals and guitar legend Steve Howe, hit the mark with a great set full of throwbacks!
Shortly after 8pm, Deep Purple arrived onstage to a standing ovation! With the band celebrating the 50th anniversary of megahit Smoke on the Water, it’s not surprise that the members are not exactly young. But watching them on stage, you’d never tell they are all in their 70s. The energy is there, and Deep Purple delivered a masterclass in classic rock! Frontman Ian Gillan’s voice resonated through the arena, enchanting fans of all ages who came to rock out to their favourite band!
