With Noah Kahan, Melanie Martinez, Teddy Swims, Teezo Touchdown, Arlo Parks, D4vd, Mannequin Pussy, The Japanese House and Wild Rivers
OSHEAGA is back in business for yet another year, and kicked off their 17th edition in style! Our Daniel Dorta started his day with Toronto folk band Wild Rivers, while Marie Demeire checked out the sweet sounds of The Japanese House.
From there, Mannequin Pussy kicked things into high gear and took everyone by surprise with such an energetic set so early in the day! D4vd (a last-minute addition to the lineup to replace Dominic Fike) backflipped his way around the stage, and UK’s own Arlo Parks charmed the crowd (and made a surprise appearance during Noah Kahan’s Stick Season at the end of the night!). Teezo Touchdown rapped the green stage down and serenaded the audience with his flower bouquet microphone, and Teddy Swims might’ve been slightly tipsy, but brought a hell of a performance on the main stage!
We wrapped up our first evening with Melanie Martinez’ ultra cinematic Trilogy Tour set, and finally our headliner, Noah Kahan! It was a full-circle moment for the Vermont singer, who use to come to the festival as a teen and sleep in his car to avoid paying for a hotel. This was his first time playing OSHEAGA, and he got to headline it with a lovely and wholesome set, that had everyone screaming along from the opening notes of Dial Drunk all the way through Stick Season.
Day 1 of OSHEAGA was a blast, and it’ll only get better from here with headlining sets by Green Day and SZA! Today is sold out, but a handful of Sunday tickets are still available, check out the festival’s website for more info and stay tuned for more of our photos!
