On Tuesday night, American singer-songwriter and pianist Norah Jones brought her Visions tour to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver, BC.

New Orleans folk band, Hurray For the Riff Raff, opened the night.

Shortly before 9pm, Jones walked to her white grand piano dressed in a colourful summer dress. With a single spotlight illuminating her, Jones commenced the evening with “What Am I To You” from her Grammy-winning album Feels Like Home. The moment was intimate, setting the tone for a night filled with soulful melodies and captivating performances. Accompanied by her talented band, including keyboardist and jazz singer Sami Stevens, and singer, songwriter, and guitarist Sasha Dobson, Jones delivered vocal harmonies that created a harmonious and enchanting experience.

The band’s cohesive jazzy sound was both smooth and moody, perfectly complementing Jones’s magnificent, soothing voice. As she transitioned from the grand piano to an electric piano, Jones showcased her versatility. While standing at the keyboard, she performed “I’m Awake,” and “I Just Want To Dance” occasionally engaging with the crowd, adding a personal touch to her performance.

Returning to the grand piano, Jones performed “All This Time” from Visions. The concert continued to showcase Jones’s diverse musical influences, blending elements of country, folk, and a touch of blues. Her performance of “Queen Of The Sea” on guitar added a refreshing change of pace. The show’s closer, “Don’t Know Why,” a song that introduced Jones to mainstream success, was a fan favourite and a perfect ending to a memorable evening.
