It’s time once again for the list of the best new music to be released right here on Canadian Beats Media! These are all articles that were posted this last week on our website and I have chosen them for you to enjoy. They are appropriately nicknamed, Zach’s Picks Of The Week and are coming up right here. So don’t turn away please keep reading. You are about to embark on a musical journey here on a Music Monday!! However these are just my personal recommendations, so if you don’t like them. Be sure to go explore the rest of our website for even more awesome content posted every day. Interviews, concert coverage, and new music are just a click away from our social media platforms. So please stay in the loop and tell your friends. Right now we’re going to get into the music starting off with my fifth recommendation of the week. These are going to be Zach’s Picks Of The Week, here on Canadian Beats.

Five

Kicking us off with the best new music, it’s the latest from Colin Stetson. Releasing the second single “The Six”, off of his upcoming album, The love it took to leave you. The full album will be available on all streaming platforms when it’s released on September 13th, thanks to Envision Records and Invada. But Stetson is a force of nature life and he will be hitting the road next month. For a list of tour dates and to check out the brand new single, “The Six” within the article that we have posted here.

Four

Coming up right after that exciting recommendation, it’s easy to say we can all get lost in our own head and that’s when you need someone like my next pick of the week. Italian-born, Montreal-based pop/classical crossover artist, Giorgia Fumanti is here to remind us that there is a certain other organ that we can listen to instead. Her brand new single, “Close To Your Heart” is available now across all streaming platforms. It’s a jewel plucked from her latest album, The Cinema Collection Deluxe Edition. Have a listen to the new single within the article that we have posted right here.

Three

Right after those two excellent picks of the week, we have Ontario punk outfit Back Alley Gospel joining us. Who’s here to help us all remember that first love with their latest single, “Old Flames” available on streaming platforms. But it flashes the listener back to the rosy period in a relationship when they can’t get enough of each other, the smiles come easy and everything is going right. You know, before it all gets shot to hell. This was the first track to drop from the band’s upcoming four-song EP, their first release since their 2023 debut, Hold Up Your Head. However, you can check out the brand new single “Old Flames” within the article that is posted right here.

Two

This will be the runner-up for the top spot on my list of the best new music. After a decade since the release of his last album The Truth, it looks like Canadian Idol winner and gold-selling recording artist Brian Melo joins us again. Releasing powerful guitar riffs and haunting vocals on the single, “In the Air” which you can find on all streaming platforms. It’s a rock love song that encapsulates the electric anticipation and intensity of love. Narrating this story so profound, that it lingers in the air between two hearts. The official music video can be seen when you check out the article that was posted here.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

This week’s bonus article can be found within the section called, Canadian Beats Passport. Typically reserved for international artists from around the world! This week we meet David Benson of Said Sara from San Francisco California. not only is he the drummer for longtime death metal outfit Acephalix, but also a special education teacher in his hometown of San Francisco. He joins us this week with his latest single “Then There You Are,” described as “Emphatic by affectionate,” which pays tribute to those who passed on but still “might be monitoring you.” You can see the official music video when you go through the link to our article which is right here.

One

Now we have reached my final recommendation of the week, that’s making it onto Zach’s picks of the week. So please help me welcome Alternative indie folk singer Rory Taillon to the number one spot. The second single “Whis You Would Stay”, is off his forthcoming LP and is available now. Quoted from our article, Taillon talks about listening to an interview about a songwriting exercise and finding the title inspiration. “I thought of ‘Death Wish’ (the title changed) and I really like double meanings, so I started writing a song about a conversation with the entity of Death and what I wish I could say to them.” Be sure to go listen to my number one recommendation right in the article that is posted here.
