Celebrating Love in a playful, sexy way in Stephanie Westdal’s new pop/rock single, “Drive Your Car”
Winnipeg, MB’s Pop/Rock Singer-Songwriter Stephanie Westdal has a new summer single “Drive Your Car.”
Steph shares,
“Drive Your Car” is a song about feeling free and in love driving down the highway on a warm summer night.
It’s about celebrating love in a sexy, playful way while exploring exotic global locations together. It’s about a woman leading the way in a position of power. She’s writing the narrative. I posted a post on social media that I was challenging myself to write 1 song a day and if anyone had suggestions for a song title or subject I would write a little song about that. Brian, a friend, suggested I write a song about cars, et voila. I wrote this song in the kitchen in about 8 minutes. I was so inspired by the creative possibilities of writing/singing about traveling and exploring the world with the one you love, something that feeds my soul, something that I truly value in my life. This song sounds like a Dua Lipa song.”
The Drive Your Car release show party will happen on July 26 at Shannon’s Irish Pub in Winnipeg, MB. More info here.

Do you have any upcoming shows you’d like to tell us about?
Yes!
I will be officially releasing Drive Your Car on July 26 at Shannon’s Irish Pub from 10-1 am! Would love to see as many excited faces there as can fit the room!
I’ll be re-releasing Bleed, a current version of a hit song I wrote when in the band Chains On 20 at The Rec Room, 696 Sterling Lyon Parkway, on September 21! Join this event!
Thrilled to be part of the event RAW Canada again on October 4 at the Exchange Event Centre, 291 Bannatyne! This event showcases original artists and I will feature my new material which includes Drive Your Car, Bleed, I Want You So Bad and I’m Gonna Love you as well as original material from previous albums. A great event showcasing local artists!
If given the chance, which Canadian artist would you love to work with in the future?
I’d love to write and sing with Diana Krall. Her smoky, laid-back, breathy vocals seduce me every time.
What’s your goal for 2024?
My goal for 2024 is to release these 4 new singles to a global audience and create global connections and community. I’d love to collaborate on new compositions and productions and empower more women to share their authentic creative selves with the world.
Oh and style expansion! By this, I mean creating new visuals, new looks for different songs, different feel, and different vibes. I’m all about the full experience so slap on that red lipstick! Life’s too short!
