Gondola shares new single, “Aphantasia”

Gondola Shares Moody Alternative Rock Single, “Aphantasia”

Gondola is Jacob, Julia, Lyle, and Stephan from Montreal, QC. They make moody indie/alt-rock scientifically designed to make you yearn, sway with angst, and possibly call your ex in the dead of night.

What do you see when you close your eyes? Is it their face, staring back at you in technicolour? A grainy imitation, an etched-out facsimile? Or is it a swirling void of information, guesswork, and inference—a shot in the dark where knowing once was?

“Aphantasia”, the latest single from Montreal indie outfit Gondola, is about parallel lines, about memory’s betrayal as a person you love is reduced to a sketch, then a feeling, then inky blackness in your mind. With its explosive drums, frenetic, daydream guitar, imposing bass, and vocals straddling the lines between confidence and desperation, “Aphantasia” is a song of mourning someone who’s still out there, somewhere, leaving you with nothing but hazy recollection and a bad sensation where they used to be.

Their next track, “Thought I Saw You at the Show”, is poised to be even more devastatingly danceable when it releases later this summer.
