SECONDHAND DREAMCAR SHARES NEW SINGLE, “EIGHT OF SPADES”

SECONDHAND DREAMCAR UNVEILS SOULFUL TRACK, “EIGHT OF SPADES”

Canadian soul and roots band Secondhand Dreamcar reveals funky track Eight of Spades. Inspired by the Eight of Pentacles tarot card, Eight of Spades delivers a delectable groove celebrating beauty and joy in everyday life with the highs, the lows, and the mundane. This release marks their official debut after a successful residency at the historic Blues on Whyte club hinting at more upcoming music.

Recorded live off the floor, the track captures the lightning of a great live performance into the bottle of a recorded track to encapsulate the band’s undeniable chemistry. Hailing from Alberta, this nine-piece band is a lyrically-driven funk supergroup fronted by Canadian Folk Music Award-nominee Dana Wylie together with a powerhouse rhythm section including notable producer Harry Gregg on bass, Jamie Cooper (Up and Over Trio, Obsessions Octet) on drums, Kyle Mosiuk (The Hello Darlins) and Chad Murphy (Dallas Smith) on guitar, Rooster Davis on organ, and a horn section led by Dave Babcock.

Wylie shares more about the track:

“Give it a little while / Find the lovin’ in the toil / Your life has already arrived – Lyrically, our songs deal with the nitty-gritty of the work of life, from a spiritual perspective. Because I believe that if there is a reason we are all here living a life, it is because there is something we are supposed to learn.”
