Tonight, Australian folk duo Angus and Julia Stone made their long-awaited return to Montreal! The siblings act had not played here in 8 years, so it’s not surprise that there was not an empty seat in the theatre, and the band appeared on stage to a thunder of applause!
The evening started softly, with Santa Monica Dream played acoustically. The curtain then lifted, revealing the coziest set, complete with lanterns hanging all over the stage. The performance felt super intimate, as if we were attending a jam session in the Stone’s living room. Both Angus and Julia have incredibly unique voices, that resonated throughout the venue to the delight of their fans. Highlights of the evening included Yellow Brick Road, the cover of Miley Cyrus’ Flowers, and of course, Big Jet Plane, the megahit that put the band on the mainstream folk scene a few years ago.
All in all, the night felt warm and cozy, the kind of show that heals the soul on a Friday night!
