THE SOUND OF EDDY Share Pop Fusion Single “Airport”

Ladders EP Out August 30 On Ensoul Records

Montreal-based The Sound of Eddy, continue their campaign for their upcoming EP, Ladders, with the single “Airport”. The Ensoul Records release is scheduled for August 30.

The Sound of Eddy provides a light-hearted house/pop fusion single with their latest release, “Airport”. Fun sounds shoot off in different directions like a squealing synth that decays in the distance, laser phasers, and a wobbling bass.

Abigail Galwey’s lyrics are descriptive and casual, while her vocals invoke a bright enthusiasm. Through a monotone whisper that fuses with the dance rhythm, she mimics the way a DJ would speak over a song. The production quality of “Airport” shines through in this section. The music becomes blurred and obscured with murmurs of voices that crescendo and cut to a clear minimal drum beat. Abigail’s warm touch returns to carry the song.

“Airport” explores a new musical niche for The Sound of Eddy by breaking into the electro-pop genre. The song gives off visions of neon at an overnight dance party. Someone with a toy ray gun lighting up different colors when they pull the trigger. It is a playful track that aims to be a groove to move to. Will you join them on the dance floor?
