Toronto Nu Metal Quartet Klokwise Drops “DGAF” Single
Fueled by people’s hatred of nu-metal, Klokwise is demolishing the negative associations with the genre. Today the Toronto quartet shares their latest single, the powerhouse “DGAF,” via Symphonic. In conjunction, Klokwise has a run of live dates around Ontario, plus Montreal [all dates below].
Formed in June 2023, members Jesse Turnbull, Nathan Turnbull, Mitch Maidens, and David Monks, Klokwise are re-appropriating bounce riffs, jump tempos, and on-the-nose lyrics. Their debut EP Time’s Up, released in January 2024, earned them a place in Ontario’s hardcore scene. They embrace a new community based around inclusivity and kicking the status quo to the curb. Their welcoming yet intense live show can make the most cross-armed audience member come out of mosh pit retirement and jump!
Now with the self-produced single “DGAF,” Klokwise hones their craft, risks it all, and gets even closer to what makes them unique as a band.
About the track vocalist Jesse Turnbull states,
“This song about never letting anyone stand in front of you and your identity.”
