The West Coast rap vibes and the weed smell were strong at the Bell Center last night, with Snoop Dogg ‘s Cali to Canada Tour playing in town!
G Funk trailblazer DJ Quik opened the evening, followed by Warren G (Dr Dre’s brother) who took things up another notch! With many shoutouts to Easy E, Dre and Compton in both artist sets, the table was set for one of the OGs in the genre to headline the night.
Shortly before 9pm, Snoop Dogg made an entrance in style in an old-school Chevrolet. Joint in hand, he kicked off with the iconic The Next Episode, the crowd belting along to the anthemic “Smoke weed everyday”. From there, Snoop kicked into a 40-song setlist of his greatest hits and collabs, including a set from Tha Dogg Pound in the middle of his performance. From Nuthin’ but a G Thang, to Drop It Like It’s Hot, without forgetting California Gurls, PIMP, Young Wild & Free and an explosive Gin & Juice finale, Snoop showed last night that he’s on top of the Cali rap game, standing strong after over 30 years in the biz!
