NEON DREAMS RELEASE NEW SINGLE, “MASTERPIECE”

by | May 31, 2024 | Promos

JUNO AWARD-WINNING DUO NEON DREAMS ANNOUNCES FOURTH STUDIO ALBUM THE GOOD, THE TRUE AND THE BEAUTIFUL, OUT JUNE 21

JUNO Award-winning duo Neon Dreams are thrilled to announce their much-anticipated fourth studio album, The Good, The True And The Beautiful, set for release on the summer solstice, June 21.

To mark this announcement, the band unveils their poignant new single “Masterpiece”, a heartfelt tribute by lead vocalist Frank Kadillac for his brother Tyrone; his oldest friend turned kin, who tragically lost his life to gun violence when they were young.

Kadillac shares this personal account about the story behind the song:

“‘Masterpiece’ is my way of honouring Tyrone. My Mom had me when she was 17 and we lived city to city and school to school between Toronto and Detroit for the first 13 years of my life. With us the whole time was my mom‘s best friend and her son, Tyrone. My first friend and the only friend that I spent my childhood with.

We shared everything growing up, and as we got older we started to get involved with exactly what you think a kid in the hood gets exposed to. Lucky for me, my mom figured things out, and decided to move us away to Nova Scotia. I was starting a new life, starting my first band, but Tyrone was still living our old life, and how the universe works is that whatever seed is planted and watered must grow. Ty called and asked if he could come stay with us for a while; I thought it was a great idea. Just a week later, I found out he was murdered. I blamed myself because I had a moment to help and couldn’t discern the truth of the phone call. I felt like I left a brother behind.

My mind was a mess, but I kept it in until one day I opened up to some friends; hearing their perspectives on life, death, and unexpected situations you can’t control helped me cope. Mediation relieved me of the pain and regret I put on myself. I learned that holding in negative thoughts builds up pain, and talking about what you’re going through is crucial for growth and moving beyond it.”

The astrological themed The Good, The True And The Beautiful features twelve tracks, each corresponding to a sign of the zodiac. The concept album chronicles an epic hero’s odyssey; the universal quest to find one’s way back home, both literally and figuratively. Listeners are taken on a transformative journey beginning with the opening track “Big Ocean,” where the protagonist yearns for deeper spiritual fulfillment. “Jonah” continues the story, where the call to adventure is embraced, and the liberating anthem and lead single “The Art Of Letting Go” featuring Matthew Mole, sees them release all of their fears, and fully realize their purpose.

“The Art Of Letting Go” has already made significant waves, becoming Neon Dreams’ biggest radio hit in South Africa and bringing them back to Canadian Alternative radio, where it landed in the Top 30. Teasers of songs from The Good, The True And The Beautiful have amassed over 200 million views on TikTok, with an impressive 20 million views per week, setting a strong foundation for the album’s release.

Neon Dreams – made up of Kadillac and Adrian Morris – have been steadily ascending with their self-described “sunshine music for the soul,” a vibrant fusion of pop, rock, and electronic elements. Their artistic evolution has deepened their connection with fans worldwide and fostered their own personal growth, and with The Good, The True, And The Beautiful, they invite listeners to join them as they embark on their latest epic musical adventure.
