Festival Executive Director, Tania Joy shares,
“We are extremely excited about many additions to this year’s festival including our first artist from the US Carsie Blanton. Carsie brings a fresh outspoken sass to this year’s lineup and we are delighted to kick the doors wide open to welcome her to Uxbridge. This year’s lineup features a rich dose of female and gender diverse acts, and we are very proud to have the festival firmly planted in June to champion our support of gay pride month in the Durham Region.” Joy adds, “Festival Venue and Sponsor The Second Wedge Brewing Co. will be launching a Festival Edition can design for their flagship beer, 3 Rocks IPA, in collaboration with Springtide Music Festival. The Uxbridge craft brewery’s bestselling beer will be temporarily renamed Springtide Rocks in time for the May long weekend, to celebrate the 5th edition of the festival.”
The Springtide Music Festival has teamed up with Music Declares Emergency, an initiative within the music industry dedicated to addressing climate concerns by reducing the carbon footprint of live music events. Throughout the weekend, attendees will have numerous opportunities to engage in sustainability efforts. Situated in the “Trail Capital of Canada,” the festival encourages attendees to make use of the complimentary daily crosstown trolley, which makes multiple stops throughout Uxbridge. Additionally, shuttle services will be available from nearby GO Transit stations including Port Perry, Brooklin, Whitby, Pickering, and Stouffville. Partnering hotels such as the Great Blue Heron Hotel and Casino, Pickering Casino & Resort, and The Days Inn in Stouffville will provide complimentary shuttle service to and from the downtown area. Festival-goers are encouraged to bring a shirt for on-demand screen printing, and family-friendly sustainability programming will be offered throughout the weekend.
