ZACH’S PICKS OF THE WEEK – MAY 27 TO MAY 31, 2024

ZACH COOPZ SHARES A SLEW OF NEW MUSIC

Well, it’s that time of the week once again, we bring you the best new music and you tell your friends about it. You are witnessing Zach‘s Picks Of The Week, my favourite articles that were posted this last week on our website. Think of it as a highlight reel for the music and articles we post. You will find the links to each of these articles down below in this post that you just happen to be reading. But don’t forget to have your favourite streaming platforms open, so you can add them to your favourite playlist. One of these days I promise we’ll have the video portion back. But I appreciate the fact you all are still checking out my recommendations every single week. We will continue to bring you nothing but the best means around, and that’s a promise! So what do you say, we jump right into this week’s edition of Zach’s Picks the Week right here.

Five

Beginning our list we’ve got a group returning after a twelve-year hiatus. Montréal’s Derelict are pioneers of brutal melodic technical death metal and are now back with a vengeance. They have announced their album Versus Entropy, releasing on June 21st to all music outlets and streaming platforms. But for now, they are debuting the title track within our article right here.

Four

Moving up the list we have another new single reaching number one on the charts. Though it sits at number four on my list, rising country superstar Jade Eagleson continues to solidify his status as one of country music’s fastest-rising talents. His latest single “Telluride” is a standout hit from his highly acclaimed, JUNO-nominated album, Do It Anyway. Find them across all your favourite streaming platforms, plus within this article that we have right here.

Three

Coming up next on the list of the best new music, Kingston Ontario-based band The Petras have a new single to share called “Sapphire.” It is a rousing indie rock banger that invites listeners to embrace their unique and wonderful selves. Go and check it out on streaming platforms now, it set the stage for what’s to come from this fresh all-women band. We have an interview with The Petras where you can learn more about them and hear the new single right through here.

Two

Next up is the phenomenal, JUNO award-winning artist who released his 16th studio album, it’s David Myles. His album is called Devil Talking and you can find it across all streaming platforms. The New Brunswick-based song and dance man has never been one to shy away from heavy topics like love, loss, and faith, but over his career, he’s tried his best to stay positive. But for this new album, he co-produced it with his dear friend Joshua Van Tassel, the nine new songs showcase Myles cutting loose, baring his soul, and leaving it all on the tableGo and enjoy the new album plus the music video for “Devil Talking” here.

BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport

Now it’s time for our bonus recommendation which comes from our Canadian Beats Passport articles. This is where we like to highlight international artists from around the world with incredible music that we like to share. This time we are highlighting the incredible Chicago-based independent artist Sarantos, whose latest single “Never Trust a Happy Song” is available everywhere. The anthemic, catchy song’s joyful tone belies its weighty message, with lyrics describing personal missteps, mistakes, and moments of isolation and abandonment. Go check out my international pick of the week right here.

One

Then we reached my number one choice which is gonna be the Live version of “Classic Protagonist” by London, Ontario’s Nameless Friends. As the cover art suggests, “This is a song about being a terrible person”. But “Classic Protagonist Live” was recorded on stage, during Nameless Friends’ 2023 Canadian tour, where it inspired regular sing-alongs among commiserating audiences. You can find the performance video within our article for my number one pick of the week here.

Well, I hope you enjoyed my recommendations this week because I sure did. Head on over to the main page where you can see the latest articles posted daily. There is so much more new music coming out every single day, that’s why you need to stay in the loop with us here at Canadian Beats. However, that is gonna be it for my choices this week and I really hope you enjoyed them. Links to each post are linked above us and should be shared with all your friends. I will of course bring another batch of the best new music on the internet next week. This has been Zach’s Picks Of The Week you’ve read through here. So be sure to tune into next week’s edition, and spread the Love and Positivity in the world. And to all of you out there, PEACE, LOVE, AND GOOD MUSIC EVERYONE!!
