First off care to introduce yourself to our readers?

Hey all! My name is “Jason Benoit” and I’ve been a professional country music singer/songwriter since 2013. I’m from and currently living in Fox Island River, NL (pop. 200).

Tell us a bit about your recent release.

I’ve got a new self-written/produced EP called The Deadwood coming May 10th which has more of a folk/country vibe than my past releases.  It’s the follow-up to my last album Time Traveller which amassed nearly 5 million streams worldwide.

How do you typically go about the songwriting process? Do you have a specific method or creative routine that you follow?

When I’m in the album writing process, it seems to flow naturally. I focus on the type of song I’d like to write while I’m walking or driving and ideas tend to pop into my head then I record parts in my phone and work on it with my guitar when I get home putting it all together.

Looking ahead, what are your plans for supporting this new release? Are there any upcoming tours, music videos, or additional content that fans can look forward to in connection with this project?

I have many shows and festivals I’m playing this summer. Here are a few of them and many are yet to be announced.

June 22 – Bay Fest, Corner Brook, NL
July 20 – Fundyfest – Sussex, NB
Aug 2 – Boothill Jam – Bothwell, ON

Looking back on your musical career, is there a particular moment or accomplishment that you consider a turning point or a highlight?

I’ve been blessed to have done a lot in my career so far but the turning point moment was achieving a top 10 at Canadian Country Radio with my Certified Gold single “Gone Long Gone”.

Last but not least, it’s time to pay it forward, what upcoming band or artist would you recommend your fans check out?

Reily Taylor is an East Coast kid who’s turning a lot of heads right now and properly so. He’s got a great sound and is a fantastic performer.
