So what do you say we get right into the brand new music and stop dillydallying! It’s time for Zach’s Picks Of The Week!!
Five
Starting off our list for this week, we have Montreal singer-songwriter Brittany Kennell. Who’s unveiled the music video for the title track of her new album, called Pink Collar. Available now across all streaming platforms, but The track was a joint effort, co-written by Brittany and Nathan Meckel. It highlights the hard work of women across generations and the right to independence in love, personal and professional life. The music video was directed by Charles-William de Melo and assisted by Forêt Sauvage Films on cinematography, check it out in the article we have right here.
Four
Moving up the list of the best new music brings us to the hard-rock juggernaut known as MJM (Michael J. Miller Band). They are back with a remix of the most recent single, “Live It Up” now with killer lead vocals by legendary, metal, mouthpiece, Tim “Ripper” Owens. But for the band, having Owens along for the ride, even temporarily is a major step in the upward trajectory. Go and listen to the lyric video here.
Three
Next up we have the creative persona of Canadian folk singer/songwriter and producer Graham Ereaux, Devarrow. His surprising new full-length album, A Long & Distant Wave is out now on all your favourite streaming sites via Paper Bag Records. The album’s arrival is accompanied by a pretty new track called, “Something About Getting Old” which highlights Graham’s falsetto and playfully nods to the previous single, “Kickin”. Be sure to check out our article where you can listen to all of the songs after the new album, here.
Two
The runner-up for the top spot this week is going to include Vancouver folk-roots musician Etienne Siew. His latest single is called, “Chasing Dreams” and it’s out now on all streaming platforms. This will be the lead single and title track of his debut album set to be released on June 20th. The driving, energetic country-influenced track is full of inspiration about trying to live a life doing what you love. So be sure to go have a listen to it right now, here.
BONUS: Canadian Beats Passport
Time for this week’s Canadian Beats Passport international bonus recommendation that will be joining our list. Get yourself prepared to embark on a sonic journey through time and introspection with Texas-based folk-pop artist Mark Winters. Who’s released his latest single, “Speed of Light” across all streaming platforms. This marks a significant moment in the evolving saga of Mark Winters with this track, he doesn’t just promise a musical journey. He delivers an expedition across the landscapes of the heart and soul, making “Speed of Light” a beacon for the weary and a hymn for the hopeful. Please be sure to check out our article for this incredible Texas-based artist named Mark Winters, here.
One
This is going to be my number one recommendation of the week from our list of amazing articles. After celebrating one year since the release of her critically claims sophomore album, Powder Blue. Begonia, aka Alexa Dirks, is not slowing down with the release of her upcoming EP, Open Swim on the horizon plus the new single, “Get To You”. Continues that journey of exploring communication candour and sincerity. It was co-written and produced by Begonia and Marcus Paquin along with contributions from her frequent collaborators and producer duo, deadmen. Please check out my number one recommendation right here.
That is going to be all of the incredible recommendations coming from our website, Canadian Beats. Be sure to tune in next week when we bring you another exciting list of my favourite articles.
