TELEHORN SHARES NEW SINGLE “ALMOST LOST” FROM THE GRAVITY OF SEE YOU LATER ALBUM OUT ON MAY 17
Montréal artist Jacob Vanderham, also known as Telehorn, offers up a brand new song, “Almost Lost”. This third single will be featured on their upcoming project, The Gravity of See You Later, due for wide release on May 17.
Fully written, recorded, and arranged by Telehorn at his home studio, “Almost Lost” is a song about that feeling of being connected to your true purpose. It celebrates that intoxicating state of mind where anything feels possible. This track features a deeply groovy performance by Congolese bassist Dauphin Mbuyi which is cushioned by a triumphant 12-part string section, Almost Lost stands as the glimmering final track of an ambitious debut record.
Jacob Vanderham, known as Telehorn, ventured into the music world after pursuing an acting career. Originating in Berlin in 2020, the alt-pop solo project is currently based in Tiohtià:ke/Montreal. Inspired by artists like Beck, Prince, Joni Mitchell, and Radiohead, Telehorn’s sound seamlessly blends genres, from folk and synth-pop to rock and funk.
Since the release of the debut EP Telehorn in 2021, which garnered recognition from Spotify editorial playlists, Vanderham has dedicated himself to crafting his debut full-length album, “The Gravity of See You Later.” The record features a live band, soaring string and woodwind arrangements, and Vanderham’s ethereal vocals, and was expertly mixed by Juno-winning drummer/producer Austin Tufts of Braids.
Beyond his solo project, Vanderham’s talent extends to composing music for dance. As a frequent collaborator with the acclaimed Rock Bottom Movement, he recently composed the original score for “Kid Sister,” presented by the National Ballet of Canada in 2023.
Vanderham’s next project is collaborating with Mohawk artist Semiah to create the score for Rock Bottom Movements’s upcoming work, “BIG TIME MISS,” which will premiere in Toronto in October 2024.
Telehorn and the live band will be performing at Casa Del Po on May 30th in celebration of the album’s release. More live dates will be announced in the coming weeks, so stay tuned.
