Steven Lee Olsen releases his latest single “Bigger Than This Town” honouring his small-town roots
On April 12, GRAMMY-nominated, country artist Steven Lee Olsen released his highly anticipated new single “Bigger Than This Town.” This anthemic track celebrates the unity and pride that is born from small-town living and is undoubtedly set to become the theme song for every person who spent their formative years in a rural setting. It was written by Olsen and long-time collaborator Brandon Day (Brantley Gilbert, Jason Aldean, Plain White T’s) at a writing retreat in Colorado.
On the penning of this song, Olsen explains,
“There we were, surrounded by mountains and fresh air and unsurprisingly, that brought up so many memories of my upbringing. As Brandon and I wrote we realized that this song spoke to more than just where I came from and how I became who I am today. It’s an anthem that celebrates the strength of people who learned to depend on each other and how powerful that can be, no matter how many stoplights their town has.”
Olsen says this of the single and the inspiration behind it,
“We moved a lot when I was kid, so this song is really special to me because it captures the sense of community and family I experienced growing up in small towns around Ontario. My wife and I just recently bought a house back home so our son can have this same experience, as we split our time between there and Nashville.”

”Bigger Than A Small Town” will be the title track of his upcoming album that will be released later this year showcasing the strength of the new track. Bigger Than a Small Town will be Olsen’s first full-length album release via Olsen’s distribution partnership with Starseed Records and a national headlining tour coming later this year.
