Dean Brody drops his latest single “Your Mama Would Hate Me” feat. James Barker Band
On April 5, multi-PLATINUM entertainer Dean Brody released his unexpected, tongue-in-cheek single “Your Mama Would Hate Me.” For this single, Brody teamed up with his long-time friends, James Barker Band (JBB) so the undeniably infectious single delivers an irresistible blend of Brody’s distinctive vocals and JBB’s energetic charisma.
“Your Mama Would Hate Me” is an anthem for everyone who unapologetically accepts themselves, understanding that the good and the bad is what makes them who they are. Written by Nashville icons Jake Mitchell, Nick Donley and Michael HARDY, the new track is a cheeky nod to meeting your significant other’s parents for the first time, giving listeners a pump-up song for one of the most intimidating times of a serious relationship.
Brody shares this on the single,
“We really wanted to have some fun with this song. I think from the opening verse and presumptuous lyrics to the ’70s inspired artwork, it’s very clear that we aren’t taking ourselves too seriously on this one and sometimes that is exactly what you need.”
Of the recent JUNO-award-winning foursome, Brody says,
“I have been impressed with JBB since the very first time I met them and we’ve been trying to find the perfect song to collaborate on for years. The minute I heard this song I knew I wanted to record it and I love the energy that JBB brings to it. It’s turned out better than we could have imagined.”
