Hailing from Alberta, Cynthia Hamar is a proud Métis singer-songwriter, whose music has been described as menacing, powerful, and contemplative by Music Arena GH, in 2022. With four studio albums under her belt, Cynthia’s dedication to her craft shines through in every note she plays and every word she sings.
Not only has Cynthia honed her skills through her musical journey, but she has also recently achieved a significant academic milestone, completing her Bachelor of Music at MacEwan University with distinction, with a focus on Recording and Production. This academic background undoubtedly adds depth and precision to her musical endeavors.
One of Cynthia’s most recent triumphs comes in the form of her latest album, Joint & Marrow, released on Neon Moon Records in September 2022, which is now nominated for Indigenous Songwriter of the Year at the 2024 Canadian Folk Music Awards.
