Churchill Park Music Festival Returns To St. John’s, NL this Summer
The Churchill Park Music Festival is back for another stellar festival this August. Located in the heart of St. John’s, NL, Churchill Park is quickly securing its status as one of Newfoundland’s favourite concert venues, especially with the announcement of this summer’s musical acts.
The festival has announced “five-time Grammy award-winner and top-selling female country-pop artist in music history, Shania Twain” as the headliner for a two-night extravaganza. Shania Twain has had an impressive career, with hits including ‘Any Man of Mine,’ ‘That Don’t Impress Me Much,’ ‘You’re Still the One’ and ‘Man! I Feel Like A Woman!’. Twain was the first artist in history to release 3 consecutive diamond-certified albums. She released her sixth full-length album just over a year ago and will return to Las Vegas this May for her third residency, Come on Over!.
The first of two nights, Friday, August 16th, will include special guests Alan Doyle and Lindsay Ell. Doyle has solidified his status as a NL favourite from his days with the acclaimed Newfoundland folk-pop combo Great Big Sea to his own solo career. Ell has been making a name for herself with over 200M streams online, becoming one of the most celebrated female voices in country music. Ell has two Canadian number one singles to date, including ‘Criminal’ and ‘wAnt me back’.
Saturday, August 17th will include special guest TALK. This singer-songwriter is a mass of positive energy, colour, and enthusiasm, bringing a smile to the face of everyone he connects with. His debut single ‘Run Away to Mars’ has reached multi-platinum certification all around the world. This will be TALK’s second time playing at the festival.
With this being Twain’s only Canadian stop this summer, tickets are sure to sell out fast. Shania Twain’s presale begins on Tuesday, April 2nd at 12 noon NDT at ShaniaTwain.com. The general sale begins on Tuesday, April 4th at 12 noon NDT at ChurchillParkMusicFestival.com. Let’s Go Girls!
